About the Founder
When I was 22 years old, I had a serious back injury. I could barely walk without taking painkillers. I tried many therapies but nothing gave me relief.
Until I met Kathy Grant.
She was an 80-year-old, grumpy Pilates instructor who constantly scolded me.
She said, “Tysan, you’re so weak I need to invent a new exercise to fix your nonexistent abs.”
I was shocked because I was a professionally trained dancer and considered myself very strong. But Kathy picked apart my body like nobody else could. She found exactly what was holding me back.
This ignited my passion for Pilates. Seeing what it could do for my own body, I wanted to do the same for others.
Now, Kathy wasn’t just a Pilates instructor. She was one of only two people certified by Joseph Pilates himself. She took me under her wing, and I learned everything.
My classes went from two to 30 people in a matter of weeks. But teaching in New York City really takes a toll. Yes, I had celebrity clients and taught at top venues in Manhattan.
But now that I’m 50, with three girls and a loving husband, I want to bring all that I’ve learned to Middletown.

To get into great “Pilates” shape, we recommend taking two reformer classes per week and one mat class per week.
If you struggle with soreness, tightness, or pain, we recommend one reformer class, one mat class and one release and recovery class per week. -
When you sign up now, your great rate is locked in for the year, and your membership officially starts upon taking your first class (in February). This means that you won’t get charged again until 4 weeks after your first class!

Yes, our yearlong memberships come with the ability to pause for up to 30 days each membership term. The courtesy pause period combined with the cost savings of our annual plans, means that as long as you’re in town for over 10 months out of the year, you’re getting the best per-class rate we offer! Or, if you still want to train while traveling, you can join one of our popular classes online.
If you move or experience a major medical event, we’ll pause or stop your membership, no questions asked. -
We’ve been working hard at finalizing our exact schedule, but what we can tell you now is that we will be open 7 days a week. During the week, we’ll be open from 7 AM until around 8:30 PM. On the weekends, we’ll have class between 8am and 1pm.

Our amazing team of certified instructors are great movers, teachers, and highly passionate about sharing the practice of Pilates. Most of our instructors have over 1000 hours of experience teaching, and all of our instructors complete additional training with our Pilates Oasis system.
